The New London Skatepark Organization (NLSO) is a skater-founded and operated public charity of twenty-five (25) local skateboarders. NLSO’s mission is to raise money to aid the City of New London in building a skatepark in the downtown area. NLSO hosts fundraisers, is working the City on grant efforts, and is committed to developing a skatepark in New London.

The NLSO began developing a concept for the project in late 2014. Due to the overwhelming community support, NLSO was able to achieve tax-exempt status in June 2015, and began holding fundraisers and collecting donations for the park due to its new status as a not-for-profit. NLSO is a testament to the local skateboarding community’s commitment to developing a local skatepark.
The skatepark project was created by the NLSO, which is a non-profit group of 25 local skateboarders. NLSO has also worked with the City and Paprocki Concrete to develop, design, and select the proper location for the park. NLSO presented to the local Parks & Recreation Commission in April 2017, and received unanimous support for the project at Fulton Park. The City Council has currently authorized one grant opportunity (approved on 6/5/17) to fund the final design and construction of the skatepark.
The park will be approximately 130’ x 130’ (16,900 sq. ft.) and located between the existing basketball courts and Briggs Brook inlet.

April 2017: We presented our scale model of the park and discussed everything from, liability and maintenance to scale and cost, and we were given a motion in favor of our skate park design!

Thanks New London Parks and Recreation for your continued support!
